This year’s community Yom Hashoah service commemorates the 79th anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising and the 59th anniversary of the dedication of the Memorial to the Six Million. Chaired by Dr. Frances Glazer Sternberg, the program will feature the wartime experiences of her parents, Bessie Fischman Glazer (of blessed memory) and Abraham Glazer. The program will also include the traditional lighting of 6 candles honoring the 6 million murdered Jewish victims, opening remarks provided by Rabbi Mark Glass, and a closing reflection offered by Rabbi Larry Karol.
For those who attend in person, proof of vaccination and masks are required. Members of the community who cannot attend in person are invited to watch the livestream event on MCHE’s YouTube channel (MCHE Kansas City) beginning at 1:30 pm.JOIN THE LIVESTREAM HERE
