Auschwitz Legacy Fellowship Program

In January 2022, recognizing the need to bring lessons of Auschwitz to American high school students, the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial Foundation (ABMF) launched its first educational initiative in the United States – the Auschwitz Legacy Fellowship. This year-long program takes American high school teachers to Auschwitz so that they can bring lessons of Auschwitz to their students. The Midwest Center for Holocaust Education is proud to be an inaugural partner in this program, supporting the educators from Kansas and Missouri.

In addition to intensive pre-trip preparation, educators will receive educational resources including films, lesson plans, and access to live guided remote tours of Auschwitz-Birkenau developed by the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum and the Auschwitz-Birkenau Foundation.

Our thanks to Union Station Kansas City for supporting the 2022 Fellowship Program by sponsoring 4 educators from Kansas and Missouri to participate.
