Kurt Levi

Of Blessed Memory

Kurt Levi was born in 1910 in Wiesbaden, Germany. Already an adult in 1933 when the Nazis took power, Kurt was a practicing attorney who lost his profession through the course of antisemitic legislation. After fleeing the country on a visitors visa, Kurt eventually succeeded in working through the immigration system and gained entry to the United States in the mid-1930s. He was able to help his parents emigrate from Germany in 1938 and the family was eventually reunited in 1941.
