US and the Holocaust Documentary Preview

Sept 15, 2022 – 6:30-8:30pm Social Hall, Jewish Community Campus Offered in partnership with Kansas City Public Television Ken Burns and his award-winning colleagues have been making documentaries about America for the past 40 years. Their next film is one of their most important: chronicling one of the greatest humanitarian crises in history and the starkest eckonings for our nation. Dr. Shelly Cline, MCHE’s Historian, will provide insight to further illuminate the United States’ position during this time,and how the Holocaust affected Jewish people throughout the world. In addition, audiences will be able to enjoy a screening of Kansas City PBS’ award-winning documentary All These Delicate Sorrows from director Brad Austin, which tells the stories of Kansas City’s Holocaust survivors who immigrated to the U.S. after the war.
