Holocaust denial – the outright denial that the event happened – still occurs today but is usually immediately recognized as illegitimate. Holocaust distortion and revisionism is a more current and insidious version of denial that takes many forms – often by manipulating facts and sources to minimize the scope of the genocide or trivializing the Holocaust by analogy and comparison. This presentation explores the history and evolution of denial and identifies contemporary distortions and misuses of the Holocaust.
This program is presented by MCHE’s Jessica Rockhold and offered in partnership with the Hays Public Library.
