Bringing Europe Home – Czech Resistance and the Assassination of Reinhard Heydrich
Part 3 of the Bringing Europe Home Series. As an important economic center for the Nazis, Czech resistance was considered particularly dangerous to the Reich. To deal with that threat, Berlin dispatched Reinhard Heydrich to manage the Protectorate. His assassination, in June 1942, by the Czech resistance, was met with a significant act of collective punishment in the destruction of two small Czech communities. This session explores that history.
