Refuge Denied: Anne Frank and the Failure of American Immigration Policy
For many, Anne Frank is emblematic of Nazi cruelty, but her fate is also an example of America’s failed immigration policy. This presentation will examine American attitudes and polices toward Jewish refugees in 1930s and actions taken by families, such as the Franks, to flee Nazi violence. The program is free but registration is required using this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_kz0R9i-CQTO01sZvgwMKEg.
This program is presented by the Midwest Center for Holocaust Education in support of the Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes‘ hosting of the exhibition Anne Frank: A History for Today.
