Jessica joined our team in 2003, having earned her degrees in Modern European history and Museum Studies and having served for a year as the research assistant to Dr. Peter Black, Senior Historian at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. MCHE is pleased to announce the 2023 recipient of the Ruthie Research Grant - Beatrice Levine, a graduate student in art history at the University of Kansas. Beatrice’s research “Nazi-Era Art Looting and The Status of Art Restitution Today” explores what steps the art world taking to facilitate restitution and search for masterworks still missing today, examines the history of Nazi looting, and questions where the art world is excelling and failing in its efforts to return looted works to their rightful owners today. Please help us welcome Laura Patton to the MCHE team as our new Program Associate! Laura will be working with educators and students as she facilitates our school programs. Laura was a classroom educator in the Shawnee Mission School District and a 22-year member of the Isak Federman Holocaust Teaching Cadre before joining the MCHE team.
